Dropswell farm has been in our family for three generations, and is situated about 1 mile east of Trimdon Village. The farm covers 220 acres, which we use to rear cattle and grow cereal crops. We have always grazed our cattle on the undulating fields overlooking Hurworth Burn Reservoir. In the winter they are housed in comfortable straw barns and fed on barley, oats, wheat and silage all grown on the farm. Recent additions to the farm are a family of pedigree    Gloucester old spot pigs.                                                                       

In early 2002 we converted the  old cow byre into a farm shop, selling our own home reared beef. We now sell a full range of meat, game and poultry along with seasonal vegetables, home made cakes, biscuits and sweets, all locally produced
